Young Curators 2025 - Lime Tree Theatre

Young Curators 2025

We are delighted to introduce our Young Curators for 2025, Eoin Gilmartin and Matthew O’Rourke. This is an opportunity for them to put their stamp on a programme of events for young people, and to work with Lime Tree Theatre | Belltable staff and fellow curators to create an exciting programme of events across any art-form, from theatre, music and dance, to film, visual arts and everything in between! Throughout the programme Curators are provided with mentoring from industry professionals and guidance across a number of areas including marketing, budgeting, and time-management.

Eoin Gilmartin is a performer and theatre maker from Tipperary with a deep passion for all aspects of theatre, both on and off the stage. Currently studying for a Bachelor of Science in Product Design and Technology at University of Limerick, he has a strong interest in the intersection of design and performance, particularly in lighting, costume, and set design. He has been an active member of his university’s Drama and Musical Theatre Societies, serving as Chairperson of the Drama Society in 2024. Beyond university, he has performed with groups such as Muse Productions, Ennis Musical Society, Limerick Youth Theatre and in 2023, was selected as part of the National Youth Theatre Performance Ensemble, an experience that opened his eyes to the large-scale of collaboration in the arts.

Matthew O’Rourke is a writer and performer from Limerick. His poems and short fiction have been published by Violet, Indigo, Blue, Etc, Spiritus Mundi Review, Musing Publications, and Swim Press. He was selected by the Irish Writers Centre to be a Young Writer Delegate at Cúirt International Literary Festival in 2023. He has been performing in musical theatre from a young age, and this is his first time curating. Entering the fourth year of his degree in Drama & Theatre and English at Mary Immaculate College, his curiosity for all angles of theatre making has led him to writing for the stage and doing more work behind the scenes.
