Wreckquiem cast announced!


June 2025 sees the world premiere of Wreckquiem, the much-anticipated new play  from award-winning playwright, Mike Finn, directed by Andrew Flynn at the Lime Tree Theatre. This summer, Pat Shortt leads a stellar cast alongside Patrick Ryan, Joan Sheehy, Mark O’Regan and Sade Malone.

Pat Shortt is a writer, producer and performer living in Limerick. He made his entrance to the entertainment world as co-creator and one of D’unbelieveables, Irelands biggest selling comedy duo. In 2002 Pat went solo creating the hit show Killinaskully for RTE drawing 500,000 to 700,000 viewers each week even topping one million viewers for a Christmas special. As an actor and performer Pat has sold out shows all over Ireland with his various live comedy shows. His 2007 role in the much acclaimed ‘Garage’ brought him three Best Actor awards. His credits include ‘Fr.Ted’, ‘The Fitz’, ‘Moone Boy’, ‘Strength and Honor’, ‘Man about Dog’, and ‘Soul Boy’ among others.  As a producer Pat has brought many projects to fruition from comedies like ‘Killinaskully’, ‘Mattie’ and ‘Inside The Crystal Ball’ to prime time documentaries such as ‘Bring Back Bosco’ and ‘Having a Laugh-Great Comedy Moments on TV’.Pat is in three feature films to be released later this year ‘Life’s a Breeze’ directed by Lance Daly, ‘Calvary’ directed by John Michael McDonagh and ‘Frank’ directed by Lenny Abrahamson. Pat will be starring alongside Dainel Radcliff this summer in the Noel Coward Theatre in London’s West End, in the ‘Cripple of Inismaan’ by Martin McDonagh. 

Patrick Ryan’s recent stage credits include Jilly Morgan’s BIRTHDAY PARTY directed by Joan Sheehy at Belltable, SIVE directed by Andrew Flynn  at The Gaiety Theatre, Dublin and  Billy Roche’s ON SUCH AS WE directed by Andrew Flynn. Recent feature film credits include SMALL THINGS LIKE THESE directed by Tim Mielants and the role of Frank Dolan in the feature film THAT THEY MAY FACE THE RISING SUN directed by Pat Collins. Other recent credits include roles in, THE THING ABOUT DECEMBER, EDEN, PUMPGIRL, PORT AUTHORITY, THE WEIR, A SKULL IN CONNEMARA directed by Andrew Flynn for Decadent Theatre Company, SKY FALLS written and directed by Neil Flynn at The Glass Mask Theatre, BREAD NOT PROFITS directed by Terry O’Donovan for Guna Nua, THE MISFITS and THE FALL OF THE SECOND REPUBLIC (Abbey Theatre Co-Production) both directed by Annie Ryan for Corn Exchange, WHITBY directed by Joan Sheehy at Smock Alley Theatre, Livin Dred Theatre’s revival of RIDE ON, Belltable Arts Centre’s THE REVENGER’S TRAGEDY, and the incredibly popular ALONE IT STANDS from Lane Productions which toured for a number of years.

Joan Sheehy is from Granagh, Co. Limerick and has performed with all the leading Irish theatre companies and toured extensively, both nationally and internationally. Her most recent appearances have been in The Empty Nest at the Viking Theatre and on a national tour, Theatre for One at Cork Midsummer Festival, Red Army at the Lime Tree Theatre and The First Child with Landmark Productions and Irish National Opera. She played Úna in the celebrated film, An Cailín Ciúin. Joan has directed some acclaimed productions, most recently Jilly Morgan’s Birthday Party for the Belltable Arts Centre, In the Middle of the Fields by Mary Lavin and Dracula: A Journey into Darkness and Dracula: Lucy’s Passion at the Abbey Theatre.

Mark Regan’s most recent work for screen includes Der Irland Krimi for ARD, and SisterS a new comedy drama series. His most recent feature, In The Land of Saints and Sinners, opposite Liam Neeson, is available to watch on Netflix now. Recent theatre credits include the national tour of A Day in May, and the World Premiere of Circle of Friends at the Gaiety Theatre. He appeared in Philadelphia Here I Come at the Cork Opera House. He appeared on stage in the Abbey’s production of Drama at Inish. Mark’s work at The Gaiety includes Borstal Boy, Translations, Moll, Taking Steps, Aladdin, The Field, and recently The Chastitute. Mark most recently appeared in Assassins at the Gate Theatre and Angela’s Ashes The Musical at the Bord Gais Theatre. He performed in A Day in May directed by Gerry Stembridge. Film and Television credits include Blood opposite Adrian Dunbar on Virgin Media One, Nighthawks, Revenge, Upwardly Mobile, Showbands (RTE); Father Ted (Channel 4); Anytime Now (BBC); The Dawning,, The Commitments, The Life of Reilly, Black Day at Blackrock, Angela’s Ashes, Anytime Now, Into the West, Uncle Bill’s Barrell, The Last of the High Kings, Leap Year, Milo and more recently Wait for Me, due for release later this year. 

Last year, Sade Malone was named a Star of Tomorrow 2024 (Screen International). She is currently appearing in the title role of TWIG alongside Emmy nominated actor Brían F. O’Byrne (Little Boy Blue) which screened at the International Dublin Film Festival and the Irish Film Festival in London. Previous screen roles include PISTOL (FX for Hulu and Disney+ UK) for director Danny Boyle, TIN STAR for Sky Atlantic and FRANK OF IRELAND (Channel 4 and Amazon Studios), MY LEFT NUT (airing on BBC3 and BBC1), HOPE STREET S2 & S3 (Long Story TV/BBC Northern Ireland). On stage, Sade played the title role of  Sive in SIVE at the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin earlier last year before going on to play the role of Stella in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE. Previous Stage Roles include: ’Ralph’ in LORD OF THE FLIES (Leeds Playhouse) and CUCKOO (Soho theatre). Early in her training Sade was the recipient of the coveted BAFTA Scholarship (Naomie Harris was her nominated mentor).
