MIC Community Choir Summer Concert
Lime Tree Theatre | Wednesday 31st May, 7.30pm
MIC Community Choir’s forthcoming concert in the Lime Tree Theatre is our second appearance at the theatre, our previous concert there having been in 2019. This year we’re delighted that our guests include the Killaloe Male Voice Choir and dancers from The Dance Academy Limerick, and we’ll also be joined by Noel Lennon (keyboard), Michael Murphy (doublebass), and Dermot Hinchy (drums).
Members of the local community in Limerick City largely make up the College’s well-established and growing community choir. The choir meets twice a week during both semesters of the academic year, and refreshments are provided after rehearsals. In addition to performing at its two annual concerts, the choir has also sung at college liturgies and other college-based events, including conference receptions. In 2023, the Choir will also host its first public rehearsal as part of Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival. To date, the group has raised over €3000 for local and national charities, including the Irish Franciscan Pilgrimage to Lourdes Fund, the Peter McVerry Trust, and the Limerick branch of the housing agency Novas.
Admission to the concert is free and pre-booking is not necessary, but donations may be made to Focus Ireland after the event.
