About Lime Tree Theatre
The Lime Tree Theatre is a state-of-the-art 510 seat theatre, situated on the campus of Mary Immaculate College in Limerick city centre. Through its funding from the Arts Council of Ireland and the local authority, it ensures that audiences in Limerick have access to the best local, national, and international performing arts, as well as grassroots community and school performances.
Getting Here
Lime Tree Theatre, MIC, Courtbrack Ave, Limerick V94 4D85
Walking – 15 minute walk from Limerick City Centre.
Starting at William Street/O’Connell St junction, walk down Sarsfield St towards Hook & Ladder. Turn left onto Henry Street.
Continue straight up Henry St on left hand side of the road. Pass by St Alphonsus Church. Keep walking until you see a large gated entrance to Mary Immaculate College.
Continue through the gate and follow the path along to the right. This path will lead you to the Lime Tree Theatre, there is a tall tree with a bench surrounding it. You will see Lime Tree signs on the windows of the building.
Public Transport
From the bus stop on Sarsfield St at the side of Debenhams, take the 304 as far as the Model School O’Connell Ave. From there cross the road onto Quin St. Turn left and continue straight. Once you reach the junction with S Circular Rd and Summerville Ave, you will see the gate to Mary Immaculate College. Continue through the gate and follow the path to the right. Passed the Library building the Lime Tree Theatre is on the left by the large tree.
Lime Tree Theatre Parking
There are a large number of car parking spaces on campus. However, particularly on nights when the theatre is busy, the car parks are often full up to 15/20 minutes before the show commences.
Patrons of the Lime Tree Theatre are not expected to pay the €3 to exit the upper car park, the barrier will be raised at the end of the performance.
Lime Tree Theatre Bar
The award-winning Lime Tree Theatre bar sits nicely in the foyer of the theatre. It is fully stocked and opens up to 1 hour before a show. We have a full selection of beers, wine and spirits, as well as tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks.
We encourage you to pre-order your interval drinks before the show to avoid the long queues!
Glass is prohibited inside the venues. All drinks must be transferred into plastic cups in order to be permitted into the auditorium.
Accessibility
Both the Lime Tree Theatre and Belltable are fully accessible. If you wish to avail of any of the following facilities and make a booking for any of our shows, please contact our Box Office staff on (061) 953400.
Wheelchair spaces: can only be booked by calling the box office, they cannot be booked online. We strongly advise that, should you require a wheelchair space, you should book as early as possible.
Loop system: The Lime Tree Theatre operates a Loop System for people with hearing impairment.
Accessible Toilets: The Lime Tree Theatre have accessible toilet facilities in the main foyer areas.
Changing Places Facilities: The Lime Tree Theatre have Changing Places Facilities. They are designed to enhance the health, safety, comfort and dignity of someone who may need extra support and additional equipment during personal care tasks. Please ask at the Lime Tree Theatre box office for assistance.
Guide/Assistance Dogs are welcome in both our venues.
