Ways of Doing Things by Anna Macdonald
Presented by Light Moves Festival
In Ways of Doing Things, each encounter begins with hands.
This intimate one-to-one performance invites participants to respond to the performer’s hands by creating gestures—shapes, patterns, and matches. With consent, each gesture is added to an online archive titled Collected Ways of Doing Things, forming a growing map of shared movement.

Audience Information
This is a one-to-one performance where you will be invited to move your hands in relation to the performer in a small hand duet. No dance experience is needed. There is the option for your hand movements to be recorded and to form part of an online archive called Collected Ways of Doing Things, if you want to.
Ways of Doing Things was originally commissioned by Wellcome Sanger and funded by the Wellcome Trust, as part of the One Cell at a Time Exhibition, curated by Suzy O’ Hara.
