Shakir Khan, a sitar maestro, represents the eighth generation of musicians in the renowned Etawah Gharana, a lineage celebrated for its contributions to Hindustani classical music.

His father and guru, Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan, is a legendary sitarist, while his paternal grandfather, Ustad Aziz Khan, and great-grandfather, Ustad Wahid Khan, were prominent musicians who specialized in the surbahar.

Shakir’s family heritage also includes his grand-uncle, the illustrious Ustad Vilayat Khan, a pivotal figure in Indian classical music. His artistry blends this rich heritage with his personal innovations, capturing audiences at renowned festivals in India, such as the Dover Lane Music Conference, Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Festival, and the Tansen Music Festival.

His international performances include Woodstock in Poland, “Taalism” in Germany, and “Human Evolution” in Spain, as well as a recent appearance at Riverside Ragas in the UK.

 

 

Debojyoti Sanyal is a renowned tabla virtuoso known for his dynamic performances and deep understanding of classical music. With years of experience, his rhythmic precision and creative improvisations have made him a sought-after accompanist.

Rupak Kumar Pandit is an accomplished tabla artist whose mastery over the instrument and nuanced playing brings a unique flavor to every performance. His impeccable technique and mastery of traditional rhythms have earned him recognition across the music community.
