This special screening event, marking Limerick’s official pairing with Germany for the Irish EU Presidency 2026, begins with an introduction to Margit Wagner featuring extracts and a discussion with Prof. Albrecht Wagner (son of Margit Wagner), followed by a programme of her films: Abenteuer des Helfens (The Adventure of Helping) and Auf die Flut warten (Waiting for the Tide). The evening continues with excerpts from Irland – Lieder für Träumer, Musik für Rebellen (Songs for Dreamers, Music for Rebels) and a full screening of Mr Garech’s Koch (Mr Garech’s Cook), offering a rich portrait of social, cultural, and artistic life across Ireland and Germany.
