In a pretty Irish village proprietor Peggy Casey (Eleanor O’Brien) prepares for a busy weekend in the pub. But when a body is found in the receding waters of the lake, the community is deeply unsettled. Dublin Detective Sergeant Frank Ryan (Moe Dunford) arrives to investigate and uncovers disturbing truths. There is much to enjoy in this wry murder mystery set in Ireland of the 1970s.

There will be a wine reception and red carpet in Belltable to welcome lead actress Eleanor O’Brien to the 8pm Báite screening. After the film she will be taking part in a post show Q&A facilitated by Dr. Jenny McMahon. Tickets are limited so book now to secure your seat.

Jennifer McMahon is the Head of Psychology at the University of Limerick, where her research sits at the intersection of wellbeing, lived experience, and public engagement. A practicing musician as well as an academic, she has cultivated a long-standing relationship with the arts as a space for exploring the human condition and has conducted in-depth conversations with some of the most compelling voices in music, film, and journalism, including Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol, acclaimed film producer Dream Hampton, and investigative journalist Anthony McIntyre. Jennifer will bring that same curiosity, creative sensibility, and depth to a conversation with Eleanor O’Brien, exploring the world of Báite and the craft behind bringing such a powerful story to screen.
