An Evening in Conversation with Colum McCann: Exploring his latest novel Twist
Presented by Lime Tree Theatre
Join internationally acclaimed author Colum McCann for an evening exploring his latest novel Twist — a darkly epic tale of connection, disconnection, and destruction.
McCann will be interviewed by Dr. Deirdre Flynn, lecturer in 21st Century Literature at MIC Limerick, Director of the BA in English and Drama, and a published scholar in Irish Studies and contemporary literature. Don’t miss this engaging evening of conversation and storytelling!
Follow journalist Anthony Fennell aboard the George Lecointe, a cable repair vessel off the African coast, as he uncovers the fragile undersea network connecting the world. With tensions rising, tragedy looming, and a mysterious disappearance, Twist delivers a gripping exploration of narrative, truth, and human vulnerability.
“Urgent and utterly compelling … Wild but controlled, with its deft apparatus mapping our most mysterious 21st century malaise – the great loneliness of the connected world” Kevin Barry
“A powerfully realist novel of men at sea … It speaks of the brokenness of our time, the successful and unsuccessful attempts at repairs, and the vulnerability of our world” Salman Rushdie
