SHORT STORY CALL OUT
FUTURE LIMERICK: Climate Arts Festival running from the 16th to 22nd May in Limerick. As part of the festival we are running a short story competition which is now open to applications from adults and young people.
The brief: write a short story of maximum 1,500 on the theme “What we all thought would never happen”.
The judges will be looking for stories that reflect themes of the environment, the climate crisis, or imaging a brighter future.
Categories:
Young people under 11: 1st place €100, runner up €50
Young people under 18: 1st place €100, runner up €50
Adults 18 years and over: 1st place €250, second place €100, third place €50
The contest is open to writers worldwide
Entrants may submit one story only
Shortlisted candidates will be notified by email.
Prize winners will be announced on Sunday 22nd of May as part of the festival.
Submissions to: submissions@futurelimerick.ie by May 1st 2022.
Please attach your story as a word document and include in your email a bio of 100 words or less.
