CALL OUT: Belltable Artist-in-Residence 2024
As part of the Belltable:Connect programme supporting artists in Limerick over the past number of years, the Belltable has supported artists through its Artist-in-Residence scheme. Previous artists who have spent a year working on their practice and benefiting from the many supports the venue can offer have included Mike Finn, Joanne Ryan, Liam McCarthy, Georgina Miller and Hala Jabar.
For 2024, the Belltable welcomes applications from artists working in the performing arts, but most particularly music or theatre, to apply for the Artist-in-Residence programme.
The residency comes with a stipend of €12,000 (payable in installments) hot desk space to work in Belltable and use of the studio spaces in Belltable for rehearsal/development work. The Artist-in-Residence will also have access to the expertise of Belltable production, marketing and technical staff for the duration of the residency.
The successful artist does not need to be based in Limerick, but will be expected to contribute in a meaningful way to artistic life in Limerick, spending some time there over the course of the year. This will be agreed in advance on the start of the residency.
Applicants should apply to AIR@limetreetheatre.ie with the following:
- Up-to-date CV
- A proposal with an outline of the project / programme of work including:
- What the artist hopes to achieve across the year
- If the proposal includes working with other artists, a short summary of their work
- Why the artist want to engage with the LTT/Belltable residency
- References and/or recommendations from previous collaborations, if available
- Minimum of 2 and maximum of 5 examples of their work
The written proposal should be no longer than 1,000 words.
The Lime Tree Theatre | Belltable welcomes applications from all artists including those who may not have engaged with the organisation in the past; those who are interested in all elements of the creative process (writing, performance, music, lighting design, sound design); and artists from all our communities in the mid-west and beyond.
Applications should be submitted before 5pm on Thursday, November 30th 2023.
