Artist in Residence 2026
Lime Tree Theatre | Belltable are delighted to have Terry O’Donovan joining us as our Artist in Residence for 2026.
Terry O’Donovan has worked as an actor, director and producer since 2005. As Co-Artistic Director of Dante or Die he has co-created all productions and performed in many. His site-based work has toured nationally and internationally, and been presented by BAM’s Next Wave Festival New York, Traverse Theatre, The National Theatre, the Almeida and Wales Millennium Centre. The company recently revived their celebrated production I Do with the Barbican, South Street & The Lowry.
Recently he co-wrote and co-directed Kiss Marry Kill and the company’s first interactive film, Odds On, which has won five awards including Best Director at Scenesaver’s 2023 Awards. His joint performance in Skin Hunger was awarded Best Performance in the OFFIE Awards 2022.
He has directed two site-specific productions in Limerick, Ireland: Bread Not Profits (winner of Irish Theatre Audience Choice Award 2019) and On the Wire (nominated for Best Production in the Irish Theatre Awards in 2015) and was dramaturg on the recent Connie. He co-founded TOOT (now TalkShow) and made three productions as co-creator and performer: Ten Out of Ten, Be Here Now and Focus Group, all of which toured the UK extensively.
