Kate O’Brien Hour; A Distinguished Villa Rehearsed Reading
Presented by Limerick Literary Festival in Honour of Kate O’Brien
in association with College Players
College Players are delighted to be on board this year and enjoying the synchronicity of doing a rehearsed reading of Kate O’Brien’s 1926 play,
Distinguished Villa at the start of their 100 Year Celebration of College Players in Limerick. The play, one of O’Brien’s first published pieces, set among the social-climbing middle classes of a London suburb, bears all the hallmarks – fearlessness, boundary pushing, insight into the human condition – that identify her later work.
